Over the Christmas period, The Doggy Day Care Centre ran raffles across our centres in Alnwick, Pegswood, Morpeth, Blyth and Whitley Bay in support of the charity. Customers, families and local supporters took part, with an overwhelming response.

The raffles raised a fantastic £1,165, with every penny donated directly to the shelter. Alongside this, huge quantities of bedding, food, toys, treats and essential supplies were donated throughout December, helping to support dogs and cats currently in the charity’s care.
Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter provides rescue, shelter, medical treatment, rehabilitation and rehoming for animals who have been abandoned, mistreated, or whose owners can no longer care for them.
“People did not just buy raffle tickets. They arrived with car boots full of donations and genuinely wanted to help,” Ciara Callaghan mentioned. “It was a powerful reminder of how caring The Doggy Day Care Community truly is.”

Following the success of the Christmas appeal, all Doggy Day Care Centre locations are now official donation drop off points for Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter.
