MeetJenny & Andy

Jenny and Andy are the founders of The Doggy Day Care Centre and their shared love of dogs is where this all began.

Previous to opening The Doggy Day Care Centre in 2018, Jenny and Andy both worked full time jobs and often struggled to juggle their very busy lifestyle around their two children, two horses and then four dogs. Doris the French Bulldog, Jazz the Jack Russell and two working spaniels Maggie and Bessie. From those struggles the idea of The Doggy Day Care Centre was born and the pack has grown with the addition of their little pug, Pug!

With Jennys previous experience with animals combined with Andys high customer service skills was together what made this a great idea.

At the start they both worked full time at The Doggy Day Care Centre to get the new venture off to its best start and also worked full time nights elsewhere to support the family while The Doggy Day Care Centre was growing.

"Our Shared passion for dogs makes this our absolute dream job, we have a fantastic team and together it's our mission to make your dogs have the best fun combined with the highest level of care when attending our centres."

Chloe

Chloe has been part of the team since November 2019 and has grown into a Management role during her time here. She holds certifications in Dog/Puppy Training and Level 3 Canine Emergency First Aid.

At home, Chloe shares her life with Cloud, her Springer Spaniel/Border Collie cross. They have a close bond and enjoy attending daycare together. Outside of work, they’re active members of a local Flyball Club, which keeps Cloud mentally and physically engaged.

During a six-month break from daycare, Chloe volunteered at a rural dog shelter in Thailand. This experience was transformative, as she worked with dogs facing a variety of challenges, including those with difficult backgrounds or disabilities. It deepened her patience and understanding, particularly for dogs with special needs.

At daycare, Chloe applies her training expertise to enrich the experience for all dogs, especially puppies. She enjoys incorporating obedience training and impulse control games to support their development. Her passion lies in working with high-energy breeds like spaniels, collies, terriers, and labradors, helping them grow in confidence and overcome behavioral challenges.

Elisha

My name is Elisha, and I am a Daycare Assistant at the Morpeth Centre, having been a part of the DDCC team since January 2021. Throughout my time here, I have developed a strong passion for providing high-quality care and ensuring a positive experience for every dog in our daycare.

I hold a qualification in Canine First Aid and a Level 2 qualification in Animal Welfare. With a lifelong love for animals, particularly high-energy breeds such as terriers, I am dedicated to promoting both the physical and emotional well-being of the dogs in my care. I currently have two Jack Russells, Sas and Wilson, who occasionally join me at the centre.

Over the course of my time at DDCC, I have developed a particular interest in working with older and more nervous dogs. I take great pride in providing them with the extra attention and support they need, helping them build confidence and enjoy their daycare experience to the fullest.

Outside of my professional role, I enjoy taking my dogs on outdoor adventures and spending quality time with my family.

Amy "Taxi"

Hi, I’m Amy, Daycare assistant & Pet Taxi Driver at Whitley Bay, and I’ve been with DDCC since September 2024.
I absolutely love my role as a pet taxi driver – it’s such a joy to see how excited the dogs are when they’re on their way to Doggy Day Care! I hold a qualification in Canine First Aid, and I really enjoyed the course – it was great to learn some new skills that can make a difference in an emergency. My favorite breed is the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. At home, I have three pets: Missy, Storm, and Victor. Outside of work, I love going out for food and drinks.

Hi, I’m Ellie, a Doggy Day Care Assistant at our Whitley Bay centre. I’ve been part of the team since February 2024, and I absolutely love working with dogs every day.

I’m certified in Canine First Aid, which ensures I can provide the best care for all the dogs we look after. I also have a wire-haired dachshund named Blu, who is my absolute pride and joy.

Outside of work, I enjoy taking Blu to the beach and exploring the great outdoors. I love meeting all the different dogs at daycare and discovering their unique personalities – though I have to admit, I’m especially fond of dachshunds!

Eloise

In December 2022, Eloise joined The Doggy Day Care team. Her affection for animals, cultivated from a young age, has always included a special love for dogs, especially those of working breeds like German Shepherds. While she aspires to have her own German Shepherd someday, she currently shares her life with Zelda, a working cocker spaniel. Eloise enjoys dedicating her free time to teaching Zelda entertaining tricks.

Eloise's family also includes Ripley, an older English Springer Spaniel. Ripley's favorite pastimes include cuddling on the sofa and stealthily nabbing biscuits from the tin at night. Both Zelda and Ripley accompany Eloise to daycare, where they have forged numerous close friendships.

Eloise finds great satisfaction in her role at daycare, particularly in the rewarding process of helping dogs build confidence. Witnessing them gradually emerge from their shells and uncovering their playful personalities is an aspect of her work that she cherishes.

I’m especially interested in learning more about enrichment activities for dogs and understanding how these benefit them in the long run.

My favorite breed is the Jack Russell Terrier – I adore their cheeky personalities and confidence! I have two dogs of my own: a one-year-old Cockapoo named Honey and a 15-year-old Jack Russell called Sparky.
